“La terra piatta è una dimensione lirica del luogo come se regredire fosse inventare” is a reflection on the relationship between memory, time, and perception. The “flat earth” — terra piatta — does not refer to a real place, but to a mental dimension in which the past is perpetually recreated: the act of reminiscing does not lead to an accurate reconstruction of the past, but rather to its reinvention through the gaze of the present.
This process is echoed in the very structure of the exhibition. Every two months, over the duration of the show, a selection of works on display will be replaced, progressively transforming the space.
The exhibition is therefore not conceived as a static arrangement, but as an evolving organism in which time plays an active role in shaping the experience.
Reflecting the way memories are reshaped each time they are revisited, the exhibition space is transformed, taking on new meanings with each iteration. The exhibition invites visitors to engage with an experience that evolves over time, suggesting that our perception of places, images, and memories is always the result of a dynamic and open-ended process.
